The focus of my art practice has often included the re-examination of mundane objects, as they function as signifiers for sensory information, knowledge and memory. These objects also highlight the interwoven nature of our perception and the interplay between art and life.
Working in series allows me to develop a dialogue with my materials and mirrors my interest in process and the transformation of the familiar. Gathering, sorting and reconfiguration are all processes I use regularly to explore or re-examine the world around me. Art making for me is a way of sharing some of those ideas.
